Thursday, March 21
Thursday sessions will run both morning and afternoon. Join us for fascinating sessions on Conflict in Business, Conflict in Education, Conflict in the Family. Other events in the day will include a Welcome dessert reception and a “Meet Your Board” meet and greet. If you wish to bring a guest to the Thursday dessert reception, there will be an additional fee on the registration form. Please pay for your guests with your registration so we can plan our meal count. Lunch will be on your own at local diners or restaurants. (All fees are USD.)
Friday, March 22
Friday sessions will run both morning and afternoon. Can creative listening resolve conflict? How can we use potential conflict to generate progress? These and many other questions will be addressed during the day. In the evening we will host a Gala Award Dinner with cash bar along with the traditional Awards ceremony to celebrate some of our outstanding members and their incredible achievements in the areas of research, service and teaching. There are several awards to be presented including the ILA Listener of the Year, Listening Hall of Fame, ILA Lifetime Achievement Award, ILA Special Recognition Award, ILA’s President Award and many more. If you know somebody you who you would like to nominate for an award you can do so: Awards link Lunch will be on your own at local diners or restaurants.

Saturday, March 23
Saturday morning sessions will run until early afternoon. Join us for a special Past Presidents’ Luncheon to honor past ILA Presidents and thank them for their extraordinary service and dedication. We will also enjoy a preview of the 2020 convention – where shall we be going next year? – and finally we will draw together our learning and experiences in the Closing Plenary. If you wish to bring a guest to the Past Presidents’ luncheon, there will be an additional fee on the registration form. Please pay for your guests with your registration so we can plan our meal count. (All fees are USD.)
Registration and Payment Information
Please refer to the Convention Fees Page for more details. Make sure to register early for reduced rates and to ensure your spot. We have people registering from all over the world and spaces are limited. Fees will increase at noon US Central February 1, 2019.
Registration fees must be paid at the time of registration in US dollars and can be paid online by credit card. Any inquiries may be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration is non-refundable. Registration is not complete until we receive full payment for all fees and charges.
We discourage on-site registration unless it is absolutely necessary. If you do choose to register on-site in Vancouver, or if you register after noon US Central March 10 online, there will be an additional $50.00 USD charge. As we have to guarantee the number of meals in advance, on-site registrants will be asked to wait until all of the other convention participants are seated before we can invite you to join us for meals on Friday evening and Saturday noon.
Your registration fee includes Thursday’s dessert reception, Friday’s Gala Dinner, Saturday’s Past Presidents’ lunch as well as AM & PM beverage breaks as applicable by the day. Lunch on Thursday and Friday will be on your own at local diners or restaurants. While we do not have specific menus for each meal, please indicate any dietary preferences or restrictions on the registration form so we can better plan menus. Please order extra meals only if you are bringing a guest.

During recent conventions, you have told us that you prefer the flexibility to choose your own accommodation and there is a wide range of choice in Vancouver.
